Of all these health and beauty uses, grapeseed oil is most used in skin care products. It is used in a variety of lotions, moisturizers, and facial cleansers because of the nourishment it provides with fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins.

Who Should Use Grapeseed Oil

Anyone and everyone can use grapeseed oil. That being said, people with major acne problems would most benefit from its revitalizing uses. Another set of people who should use its skincare benefits are those with scars on their faces. There are properties in the oil that can heal scars left from previous zits, pimples, scabs, and blackheads. Those with aging skin should definitely use grapeseed oil, too. The product strengthens the skin and slows the spread of wrinkles.

So many people can gain something by using grapeseed oil, but people with acne issues, scars, and aging skin will get the most enjoyment from it.

How to Use Grapeseed Oil and How Much is Needed

There are many different ways to use grapeseed oil and apply it to the skin. There is no one specific way to use grapeseed oils. In fact, there are many ways.

  1. Apply it to Moisturizer– Use grapeseed oil with a daily dose of moisturizer. Only adding one or two drops will help solidify the moisturizer and keep it on the skin. In this instance, the grapeseed oil isn’t doing the work, it’s just helping other skincare products get their job done.
  1. Use a Product with Grapeseed Oil- There are so many skincare products that already have grapeseed oil in them. Different products come with different uses: anti-aging, cleansing, acne-prevention, etc. They will include directions on how to use and how much to use.
  1. Mix it with Essential Oils- Turn the grapeseed oil into a face mask by mixing in a couple drops of essential oils. Great essential oils to add to this mixture could be lavender or lemon, but any essential oil will do. Then distribute a few dots across the face to create a face mask, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  1. Apply it on its Own- Heat up grapeseed oil and spread it across the skin on its own. Again, only use enough to make a face mask and let it sit for 10 minutes. Apply it everyday for weeks and results will start appearing soon.

Side Effects to Grapeseed Oil

There are some side effects to consider when using grapeseed oil. These side effects mostly only occur when the oil is ingested, but everyone who uses the oil should still be aware of them. Grapeseed oil can cause nausea and upset stomach, diarrhea, sore throat and coughing, muscle pain, and headaches.
